Neil Tomlinson is the brilliant founder of AQUAPAX – the original concept that coined the first pure and natural mineral water brand to be marketed as an ‘unbottled’ water product – sealed from light and air in what he describes as ‘fundamentally more sustainable’ paper cartons.

I keep the water flowing and help people #ditchtheplastic

Q. How would you describe your working style?
As relaxed as possible with an occasional burst of stress.

Q. What made you decide to do what you do?
I grew up near a pristine beach and hate the fact that plastic has contaminated what used to be beautiful clean space!

Q. What has been the most surprising thing to happen throughout your career?
Watching exchange rate fluctuations on what I had perceived to be stable currencies.

Q. What’s the most important thing you’ve learnt so far in your career?
To keep my eyes and ears open and thereby learn something new every day.

Q. What advice would you give to entrepreneurs starting out on their business journey?
Write down your reasons for starting and stay true to them!

Q. How do you approach challenges in your career?
Work through, over, under or around them!

Q. What do you think are the biggest challenges facing businesses and entrepreneurs in the current market?
Brexit and the excuses surrounding it.

Q. What mottos or philosophies do you use in your working life?
Life’s too short not to be happy – JDI (just do it)!

Q. What one item could you not do your job without and why?
My glasses: it’s an age thing!
